| Third Term Starts... Now! |
| Posted by Di Smith on 22-07-2008 (40 reads) |
Greetings for the third and the coldest term. It was very chilly in the Quad on Tuesday morning! I do have gloves but as a Sydney girl, born and bred, they live in the drawer and i never think about them till my fingers freeze on the two days a year I need them.
Our big event this term is the City to Surf day, Sunday August 10, where the school playground becomes a carpark for buses and we run the Sizzle Extraordinaire all day for runners and workers and generally anyone that’s hungry. There are always thousands of them and it is a very profitable and fun day for us.
Shall we see if we can get a stall going as well? It’s a crazy day at Bondi and the race is always great to watch, right to the very last red faced competitor. I bet there are some parents and maybe some kids running.
Our next Meeting is Tuesday, August 12 We will discuss what we want to do with our hard earned funds. And discuss re-opening the Canteen of a Tuesday. Do come along and be part of the decision-making.
We can be very proud to have provided the Kindy teachers with much needed extra home readers for the children. Thanks to those who covered all those books, they are in circulation already. No child has to miss out on a reader to take home now, no matter what happens. Thank you especially to our Kindergarten parents whose enthusiastic first year of involvement in our P&C has made such a difference. Our Fundraising Committee, Brenda Miley and Felicity et al are worth more than I can say.
Thanks also to Lee, Scott, Linda, Caro, Jane, Paige, Suzie and all of you who carried on without me at the end of last term. It was much appreciated.
Anyone finished hemming the Trivia Tablecloths yet? I’ve still got two to do……
Love Di Smith -- President BBPS P&C |

The Heritage Impact Statement for the shade structure has been completed by Fiona Binns from Urbis. Fiona found no issues with the design and submitted a very positive report. This has been forwarded onto Maria, who has in turn forwarded the report to the DET. We await their decision. Fingers crossed that we can get underway soon. |
