The Heritage Impact Statement for the shade structure has been completed by Fiona Binns from Urbis. Fiona found no issues with the design and submitted a very positive report. This has been forwarded onto Maria, who has in turn forwarded the report to the DET. We await their decision. Fingers crossed that we can get underway soon.
The Dept of Ed and Training have requested that we engage a Heritage Architect to prepare a Heritage Impact statement for the Shade proposal - as the building is listed as a heritage item.
Federal Government funding was approved at the end of 2006, but after a year of negotiation with the Department of Education, Waverley Council and other bodies, we are somewhat closer to actually having a viable plan that will cost much more - and we will have to raise the funds.

Today, nearly 11 months after its completion, the School Canteen was officially opened by Jeannette McDonald, one of the leading lights who fought for its refurbishment for nearly fifteen years.
